I-beam
I-beam is mainly divided into ordinary I-beam, light I-beam, and wide flange I-beam. According to the height ratio of the flange to the web, they are further divided into wide, medium, and narrow width wide flange I-beams. The first two are produced in sizes 10-60, i.e., the corresponding height is 10-60 cm. Under the same height, the light I-beam has a narrow flange, thin web, and light weight. Wide flange I-beam, also known as H-beam, has a cross-section characterized by two parallel legs and no slope on the inside of the legs. It is an economic section of steel, which is rolled on a four-roller universal mill, so it is also called a "universal I-beam".
H-beam
H-beam is a kind of economic section and efficient profile with more optimized cross-sectional area distribution and a more reasonable strength-to-weight ratio, named because its section is the same as the English letter "H". Since all parts of the H-beam are arranged at right angles, H-beam has the advantages of strong bending resistance in all directions, simple construction, cost saving, and light weight of the structure, etc., and has been widely used.
